SESSION DETAILS
I specialize in portrait work, mainly sports athletes and lifestyle. Here are details about the sessions I offer and then the process that will typically apply when we work together.
Most of my work is driven by a concept where the aim is to create one or a handful of images with a specific look, feel and backgrounds in mind so I always quote on this specifically, if the project cannot be covered by my standard session fees which start from £100.
The standard session is for the more traditional approach to shooting a number of images, with several looks and uploading larger numbers for prints. This includes post processing of selected images as explained below.
Concept Shoots
This kind of shoot starts an idea/theme for a portrait set in a specific background, and I'll often using compositing techniques to combine the two to create a unique, artistic and captivating final image. A lot of planning and preparation is required up front to agree the concept before scouting and then capturing backgrounds. You'll have your own private online proofing gallery to view the out of camera shots and final results.
Studio Session
Standard fully prepared 1 hour session that will leave you with your own private online proofing gallery. All images uploaded are fully processed for colour and sharpening to give best possible finish. I offer retouching services as an add on to the standard session processing - see below.

PROCESS:
Quotations
I provide a detailed written quote for all photo shoots. Here I will go into explicit detail around the session, the type of shoot, backgrounds used, processing applied and any potential costs that could be incurred as applicable. I like my clients to be very clear about the service I offer, and all associated costs up front, so please always read these carefully. If we agree a booking, I will confirm the session date and time in writing.
Bookings:
When booking your session, we'll go through the type of shoot you would like, your requirements, and arrange a date and time for the shoot. Once your session is booked, the studio time has been allocated so do make every effort to arrive on time. If we need to shoot for longer due to delays, an additional charge will likely be incurred. I add this 'potential' cost to all of my quotes and would discuss this before the shoot begins.
50% of the session fee must be paid up front to reserve your session and is non-refundable. Once the payment has been received, you'll be sent a confirmation email with all of your booking details.
Consultations:
After reserving your photo session, I will schedule a pre-shoot consultation with you. This normally takes place a week or so in advance of the shoot, and is a good opportunity for us to prepare and discuss details and I can answer any questions that you have. We'll cover lighting style, backgrounds, wardrobe, makeup, accessories etc.
Model Releases
I always use model releases. This provides me with the right to publish my work if ever needed. I'll request the release to be completed and signed at the beginning of the session.
Post Processing:
Once the session is over, I'll back up all of your shots and then carefully select the best pictures for processing and uploading to your own secure private online proofing gallery.
I apply color correction and sharpening to all work. Depending on the nature of the project, different tonal finishes may be applied, such as B&W's, Sepia etc. I aim to upload low resolution watermarked versions of your shots for your review within 2 weeks of the shoot. Your online proofing gallery is password protected for you to share with family, friends, agents, etc as you wish.
Retouching:
I offer professional retouching services to take your images to the next level. Typically this will involve removal of blemishes, distractions, skin softening and improvements, lightening and darkening areas, teeth whitening, eye enhancements and more.
Retouching is charged on a per image basis. If we are working on a particular concept where retouching is essential in order to achieve the look we are after, costs will be factored into the quote. Please ask for details when booking.
Timing:
For standard shoots and PRO FOOTBALLER pictures, I aim for final pictures to be processed and prints ready for collection within 2 weeks of the shoot. Obviously this can vary, depending on additional requirements such as retouching being applied. For Concept work involving compositing techniques, timeframe for completion will depend on what is involved so please raise any time requirements when booking.
Printing:
Once you have viewed your portraits, you can select your favorites and send these to me via the website, at which point we can discuss print options and what will work best for you. I use a top leading lab who print my work on the finest professional paper to showcase your portraits. I'm a huge advocate for prints. I know in the digital age we are in, it is easier and perhaps more convenient to leave photographs on a pc, ipad or even smartphone's, but there is nothing like the look, feeling and impact that you'll get from a high quality print. Especially when enlarged!
