A Retouch With A Difference

Ben Lake, the singer you will recognise from a shoot I did last year got in touch wanting a headshot, but because he wasn't local and couldn't get down south any time soon, wondered what I could do with a shot he loved from the original photo shoot.

I took a look at the shot he liked and there was only one problem. There was a microphone in the middle of the shot and he wanted this removed to either show an open collar shirt or for me to add more tie in. Here is the original shot.

I started having a play around with the microphone and managed to remove most of the details pretty quickly, however, as with all things, there is often a simpler way. I pulled up all of the shots from the original session and I managed to find one image with a loose tie, open collar and jacket, so figured rather than trying to draw in details, why not air brush the head from the shot he liked onto the jacket, shirt and tie combo he wanted!

Here is the jacket, shirt and tie combo:

Here is the final shot with some tonal effects that I always love to try out. I thought it looked pretty cool.

Thanks for reading. Check back Friday for a bits and bobs blog post.
